Here at Go Tico!, community engagement is one of our most important core values. That's why we started our Community Literacy Project last year. Given our rural location, there is not easy access to public libraries and affordable books, and unfortunately reading is not emphasized in most school curriculums. By establishing our La Flor Community Library, we hoped to respond to these needs and provide a free space for local residents to read, learn, and experience the world through the pages of their books. With the success of the La Flor Library, we have since expanded our Community Literacy Project to include weekly storytelling run by volunteers in nearby schools, as well as a mobile library that keeps these schools supplied biweekly with new books.

We firmly believe in the power of reading – it can uplift and transform lives, and it encourages kids to dream, connect with new ideas, and access their creativity. We founded our Community Literacy Project with these benefits in mind, and with the hope of becoming more than just a travel company. Go Tico!
